Here I am, trying to dutifully keep up with the writing now that I am back from the retreat and the bone-deep weariness has set in. The weariness comes from pushing myself over the last week. I've never run a marathon, but I think last week feels like the first few miles of one.
It was all lovely and exhilirating, and before I lose the glow of it all, I decided I better keep writing. To write 25K a month, I have to write 833 words a day. In four months, I'll have another 100K words, and hopefully, I'll be at a good breaking point for book one of the Stag books. (Only two, I hope. I had really hoped to make my first full-length novel ONE book, but the outline and my magic 8 ball say OUTLOOK NOT GOOD.)
Anyway....Laurie puts a sentence every day that is her fun sentence of the day. Kind of a personal carrot-on-a-stick. I don't know if I have "fun" sentences, but here's what I do have for today:
Later, when pain became his theological tutor, and Fleder wanted only one thing, the gods became very consistent indeed. They consistently ignored him.
1031 words total.
That is a great bit. 25K a month, huh? I don't think I get that. Good on ya.

It was a random number, for goal/deadline purposes. We'll see how long
I can stick with it....but 833 words doesn't seem too scary. :)
